Three simple ways to create a warm Christmas feeling

Christmas is filled with cherished traditions all over the world. The festive foods, the beloved music, beautiful decorations, and warm scents like the Swedish tradition of freshly baked gingerbread cookies. If you ask us – Christmas is the season of joy and celebration.

But how do you capture that cozy feeling if you’re spending the holiday season in Spain? Here are our three best tips for bringing the Christmas spirit to life in your Spanish vacation home, and of course with a touch of the Mediterranean charm.

1. Bring the nature in

There’s nothing that creates a Christmas spirit like nature. Pinecones and olive branches is a beautiful mix that will create a rustic, Mediterranean-inspired holiday vibe. Combine the branches with red apples on a tray with four advent candles and you have made the perfect Christmas decoration for your table or your mantel. Citrus trees are very common in the Mediterranean and oranges is a common fruit around Christmas. Why not add oranges in a beautiful ceramic bowl and decorate it with some rosemary springs! Maybe there is no snow outside, but we guarantee that the scent of oranges filled with cloves will get you in Christmas mood without the snow.

2. Create a cozy atmosphere

The soft glow of the Christmas tree lights always brings that festive and warm feeling. These smart battery-powered string lights can be used in many ways to bring a cozy Christmas feeling to your home. You can arrange some pine cones and lights in a glass vase in a bookshelf or place a string light in a lantern on the terrace to bring the coziness outside. You can also decorate a sideboard with green branches and a light string! To amplify the coziness even more, set up a tray with your favorite tapas bowls with Christmas candy, gingerbread cookies, and mugs for mulled wine – who wouldn´t feel festive with that?

3. Set the table for Christmas festivities

Bring out your most beautiful tablecloth and let it be the base of your Christmas table throughout the day. Decorate the table for breakfast with some red apples and olive branches and add small rosemary branch on each napkin.

Add a few candles in different heights at the longside center of your table and a low bouquet in the middle, and now you have a completely different table setting for lunch. Create an extra festive feeling with beautiful gold placemats, linen napkins, and a battery-powered light-string on the table. Last but not least, drizzle some gold-wrapped chocolate truffles around the table for that extra touch, and voilá – the table is set for a Christmas dinner!

And there you have it – three simple ways to decorate your home to create a warm Christmas feeling for the holidays in Spain. By adding natural elements, beautiful lighting, and festive touches to your table, you can create a cozy holiday atmosphere, even away from home.
